College Basketball Teams to Look Out For that aren't ranked, yet

  1. Harvard- they are 6-0 and have beaten Florida State and Central Florida...they don't have any 7 foot guys and they really don't shoot all that well....but other teams can't shoot against them and whether by luck or the fact that they play rather tall across the board they keep winning....and they have a guard named Curry which always helps.
  2. San Diego State- they play Creighton and California their next two games so that will really show whether or not they are a team to watch.  They got a bunch of guards that do all of their scoring pretty much, which means if a team is weaker at the guard position SD State could sneak up on them.
  3. Stanford- Are a young team and thus had troubles putting away Syracuse...but it was Syracuse so the fact that that is their only loss so far says something.  This is obviously a biased choice here, but this Stanford team is a lot better to watch than recent years and with the addition of Chasson Randle to an already improving team only good things can come out of it.
  4. Oregon State- yeah oregon state...the pac 12 hasn't looked great so far so anything can happen and probably will...but looking at this team they got some big men are seeing some great play from Devon Collier and Jared Cunningham, which means they could end up sneaking up the PAC-12 and sneaking into the tournament
  5. Illinois- They struggled with Illinois State, but were able to pull off the win and remain unbeaten at 6-0...they still got @Maryland, Gonzaga, UNLV, and Missouri on their non-conference schedule so they will be tested before they start conference play, but with Richardson making a great percentage of his threes, 7'1 sophmore Meyers Leonard coming into his own, and the addition of Sam Maniscalco...Illinois could see themselves have a pretty good year
  6. Middle Tennessee- With LaRon Dendy, who can do everything, playing the way he is right now and the size that they have Middle Tennessee could end up surprising some people...looking to see how they do in their rematch with Belmont on Dec. 13 and their late season match-up @Vanderbilt in late January.
