Over a Barrel

Ok so here are things that caught my eye throughout the episode so do be warned these are all spoilers obviously......

First of all the opening was great, since I was really curious as to who Applejack could possibly be talking to using that voice since I have never heard her using it and an apple tree was just perfect.  One thing that confused me though, is idk where Applejack is on this train, since she isn't in the room with the tree or with the other ponies so isn't seen from about the 2nd minute to the 6th minute in part one (I bring this up because Rarity may have had a point, as Applejack seems to have thought it through).

Then comes the other ponies after the intro, one of my favorite parts with after they shut off the lights and Rarity and Spike being the two that are really wanting to go to sleep finally getting their way and then Rainbow Dash moving to where Spike's bed is directly in the background to talk was amusing....the whole fluttershy=tree thing was epic, not to mention fluttershy cracking a joke with huffy the magic dragon.

I'm not really quite sure how Applejack magically reappears or how nopony was watching pinkie pie while on a speeding train and how she was able to escape off of the train is beyond me (but trying to understand the ways of pinkie pie is just kinda a waste of time so I'm ok with this).  Continuing on with Pinkie Pie's excellence as a great side character with Rainbow Dash...if nepony is gonna be out there with dash it needs to be pinkie pie.  The looks on the audience's faces when Pinkie Pie begins her song is priceless.  Also I do enjoy the fact that Pinkie Pie, in fact, has a great idea and the one that they eventually agree to, but has to present in Pinkie Pie fashion so of course goes unnoticed as her antics become the center of attention.

Twilight said everybody at 5:42 of part 2....

I also do enjoy Pinkie Pie noticing that the buffalo were not going to charge, thus went out of her way to make sure that they would (thats wat I'm going with, Pinkie Pie wanted to see someone murdered).  Also for an episode having a lot to do with apples, Applejack sure did disappear a lot as I can't find her throughout the battle scene tho I see every other pony.  And of course a Pinkie Pie finish is best finish.

Dear Princess Celestia,
Friendship is a great and powerful thing: if you want some land that belongs to creatures that don't "properly" use it just take it.  They will get upset and will want their land back, but by using the power of friendship you can act as though you are friends give them the leftovers of what you don't actually need, give them a small sliver of their land back to make them feel like they didn't lose all of it and then continue on with your business and everything will work out in your favor.

I do apologize for the quality of the commentary...its 4am and I haven't got much sleep due to the question if Fluttershy falls in the Everfree Forest and nopony is around to hear her does she make a sound?

It's Friday, Friday

The preview from the wiki says the episode is called Over a Barrel with this description: The ponies mediate a complicated land dispute between the Apple-loosans and a herd of buffalo.

You better believe there is gonna be links to the episode and my comments after this episode becomes available.

Teach Me How to Jimmer

Recap: Once again everypony made a correct decision by going with what I advised to pick. WOOOOO!  This time wasn't so comfortably though, if it wasn't for GoudeLOCK's ability to shoot from Jimmer range and some luck in the way the baskets turned out at the end of the game the Charleston (+8.5) coulda went south, but it didn't and you get your money no matter how ugly the way is that you win your bet (usually).  The Washington State game was fun as well, with Derpy Hooves getting two free throws with practically no time left on the clock to win the game for Washington State and missing both the game went in to OT, where Washington State was able to pull it off.  This all of course with the help of Castro being reinstated just hours before the game after Washington State realized that the entire team is high all the time and suspending them all wouldn't make much sense.  But, for all of those keeping score at home I am still perfect on this blog (after TWO DAYS?!?!) so hopefully I can keep that going.

For today, its Jimmer Day the day of the week in which we have the to opportunity witness the greatest shooter you could ever imagine play basketball.  This time it is against the Florida Gators, who for some reason I have playing in the Championship Game, though that does not come as a highly recommended idea.  Due to this fact, I am completely avoiding the BYU/Florida game as I have picked Florida, but there is no way I am going to put money on anything against the great and powerful Jimmer.

The only tournament game that I feel comfortable with (if you can even say that) would be the Wisconsin/Butler game.  Wisconsin is a 5 point favorite and I do like them in this game to win, but am not a fan of betting on these types of game with the spread so would have to suggest picking them straight up (-220).

The Streak looks disgusting today, there isn't much that pops out as a great pick.  Strangely enough, the golf in the morning is the only thing that I feel like I would be able to get myself to pick and I am usually wrong on those types of picks.  I usually can't help myself and always pick the win or draw in the silly 9 hole prop bets that streak master throws out there and when the players are Zach Johnson and Tiger Woods, I don't see why not. Zach Johnson is a pretty good player going up against Justin Rose (who has been playing very well including 2nd in his last tourny), but for a 9 hole prop I just feel that the skill of the two players is going to be evenly matched enough that going with the win or draw for Johnson is a decent pick.  For Tiger Woods, I mean its Tiger Woods, so I don't feel there really needs to be an explanation for why I would want to take the win or draw for Tiger against anypony.  Dustin Johnson is just the pony that streak master would want to put on there though, as he has been playing great this year, but a 9 hole prop where Tiger can either win or draw....I don't see how I could pass that up.

(will be updated for later streak pick if one can be found as interesting enough)

My Bets:
Streak for the Cash: Zach Johnson Win or Draw and Tiger Woods Win or Draw
CentSports: Wisconsin (-220)

Easy Peasy

Recap: Well everypony that took my advice on games yesterday came out ahead, as I was correct on everything woooo!  The Bulls won easily, Oklahoma beat Miami despite being 6.5 point underdogs, East Tenn State won, and Iona won both the streak and CentSports bet with Buffalo shooting 6/16 from three point range....not bad for a first blog post.

Now for today, I have liked College of Charleston pretty much all year so when I see them on the streak its almost a lock to pick.  Especially this time with them getting the three pointers or tie versus Wichita State winning margin.  Charleston is an 8.5 point underdog and make 9.5 three pointers on average a game, and due to the fact that I believe picking Charleston with the spread is a good bet, I definitely feel that the Streak bet is a lock.

Another pick on the Streak that I like is the straight up match up with Northwestern @ Washington State.  Washington State is going to be without Castro (leads the team in rebounds) due to a suspension, yet I feel that that role will be filled well by Brock Motum who played well against Oklahoma State.  I feel that Washington State is the pick here being at home where they have only lost to Kansas State (by 5), Arizona (by 2), UCLA (by 4 in OT), and well Stanford (by 13).

My Bets:
Streak for the Cash: College of Charleston 3 Pointers Made or tie and @Washington State
CentSports: College of Charleston (+8.5) and Washington State (-175)

Welcome Fillies and Gentlecolts!

I guess that I should start off by explaining what I am planning on doing with this blog.  The main point is to open up discussions about two things that have a major impact on my daily life: gambling and my little pony.  A second point to this blog is to give myself a place to express my views and vent out my ideas, likes, and concerns about said topics.

For starters, I should introduce two sites for the gambling aspect of the blog.  These two sites are ESPN Streak for the Cash and CentSports (both links are provided on the sidebar).  These sites provide free ways of making the games, in my mind, more interesting and give you an opportunity to gain some money from them.  Streak for the Cash provides games that are chosen by the "streak master" and provide several different kind of prop bets and other sorts of bets on a limited scale of what the "streak master" feels is important (or is on an ESPN network).  CentSports allows you to bet on a much larger scale of games and uses the Vegas style odds and spreads.  I plan on providing what I believe to be the best choices on the day for both of these sites.

The My Little Pony aspect is more going to be based on commentary about the episodes or MLP in general.  Mostly, it is going to be me talking about how awesome the show is and every once in a while expressing some sort of concern about the direction that some of the characters seem to be taking or something along those lines.

So now down to business, for the Streak I don't feel very confident about a lot of the games on there but the best choice seems to be the Chicago Bulls (-4) over the Atlanta Hawks.  For the more adventurous type or those that don't like the NBA, I would have to choose Iona: Winning Margin over Buffalo: 3 Pts made or tie.  Iona is an 8.5 point favorite and Buffalo on average over the regular season only shot about 16 three pointers a game, making on average about 6.  For CentSports, I like either a money line parlay with East Tenn State (-235) and Iona (-440), the bulls on the money line (if it comes out later), or Oklahoma women's bball (+6.5) against Miami (FL). Oklahoma have had troubles turning the ball over and Miami is a very good pressing team, so there is the possibility that Miami could end up making this game a blowout, but I just feel that Oklahoma's experience won't allow for such a thing to happen.

My Bets:
Streak: Chicago Bulls
CentSports: Chicago Bulls (-190)
