okie dokie lokie...heres a pony analysis

The opening scene had a couple of things that were surprising to me....first how all the other ponies could really be that confused by Pinkie Pie giving out invitations in such a way, though maybe somepony never really does get used to Pinkie's ways...secondly Pinkie getting tired was a shock to me, since she usually doesn't ever show ne signs of slowing down..

Pinkie's Party: I found it funny how when Pinkie tells RD and AJ that there were more surprises in the bobbing for apples that RD just spits the apple off of AJ's head and she reacts to it, but doesn't really phase her, seemingly used to it with Dash.  Similarly in the next scene where Rarity spits out the punch, but Pinkie has zero reaction to it.  Also I do enjoy how Pinkie goes out of her way to make sure everypony has to deal with some kind of shanaigans at her party.

ITS SOOOOON!!: Applejack having the element of harmony, shows her skills at telling lies, by well be awful at it...which leads to absolutely great scenes between pinkie and AJ.  Haha poor Spike....whats gonna work teamwork with dash and fluttershy leading to one of the greatest stories I have heard...starting with the drawn on watch by Dash.....hes a bear!!!!!!! (so pretty much if this wasn't already considered the best episode there ya go)....I really liked the fact that when Fluttershy and dash were trying to say what Harry was doing at the beach that on the third one they repeated what they had said the second time to try to get it right between the two....

hahaha Pinkie Pie coming to the conclusion that they were excuses is hilarious...

great disguise or greatest disguise?  Its funny that they are being this secretive about the party, but in all seriousness to keep a secret from pinkie pie u almost have to and it doesn't even work.....SEE YOU LATERRRR.....enter RD and another Pinkie/Dash chase scene....haha I cant even imagine how Dash felt when she was in that bell....Pinkie using her head to knock on the barn and then welp give it another shot AJ...with some great construction noises...

7 hour bubble bath spike?.....AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...when pinkie gets sad its really sad

Crazy Pinkie is one of my favorite scenes in the show....Poor Dash not knowing what she is walking in to.....and then arguing with a pile of rocks...

im just gonna ignore Twilight's letter to Princess Celestia and just assume she has my best interests at heart

Overall this has to be considered one of the best episodes...the fact that it wasn't that hard to know what the entire episode was going to be about from reading the small description beforehand made me think that the episode had a potential let down aspect if the episode didn't have some sort of surprise and not be a surprise party, but the episode was still amazing even though the viewer was pretty much aware of what was going on from the start. 

NFL Draft

Wanna see somepony, that really shouldn't be acting like they know anything about the nfl draft, tell you what they believe is going to happen...well you came to the right place!!!

Ok to start things off I don't think Cam Newton is going to go number one overall (this brings up a good idea to reading this post...read the last sentence and then wait for the draft when Newton goes first just be like wow I saved myself a lot of time not reading his shananigans, but if by some miracle Newton doesn't go first you may then return and realize how much donkey magic does indeed go into a draft)...

The Cutie Mark Chronicles

Ok so it took me forever to actually update this...o well get over it, I made a shrug pony that's like doing work so here ya go...

 

Apple Jack- this story is like comparing apples and oranges (BOOM!).....Live in Manehattan where your drinks bubble and the food is little and if u don't like then leave and get YOUR CUTIE MARK!! woot woot!  AppleJack was the last one in her class to get a cutie mark, even though I am not sure how she knew of that when she was gone in Manehattan...well on second thought I'm not sure of nepony that was in her class so ok, but I'm not sure how she was doin the school and romping, but o well.....I guess she did know that she was wanting to be at apple acres so that matched up.....next!

Fluttershy- I never would have guessed that Fluttershy was shy...so Fluttershy almost dies, but gets saved by a giant amount of butterflies who well apparently though she hasn't been near the ground and has no idea what anything is....she knows exactly what every animal is called...and Fluttershy is on another level...and well you know missed the end of the race and dash got her cutie mark, but well lets just not ask her how that happened......NEXT!

RRRRRARITY!!!- where's your office? o you're only a lil filly and don't have one welp you ain't Rarity.  I can't help laughing watching Rarity's annoyed look.....A ROCK!??! (reaction images galore) and then gems boom costumes r perfect now....

and ok an absolute great Scootaloo moment to transition to Twilight...

Twilight- Derpy DERPY DERPY DERPY....pause at 11:59 look at the entire ferris wheel, Derpy must really like that and then boom flying Derpy (mother derpy?!)...Derpy is all up in Canterlot 12:12 12:19...I really did like Twilight's antics trying to open that egg...and then boom super magic...and o btw Parents!! Twilight is pretty ridiculous actually...I do find it funny how obsessed she seems to be with nething that involves Princess Celestia..

Pinkamena Diane Pie- good to see that pinkie pie always carries her helmet with her...boom rock farm...This is just too much epicness the whole scene is just awesome..also I think Pinkie mighta been adopted...and that's how Equestria was made...and I know there shouldn't be ne correlation between the two, but Rarity's story involves a rock filled with gems, Pinkie grew up on a rock farm, and then Pinkie Pie goes inside saying her cutie mark story is a gem....idk

Rainbow Crash- "To defend Fluttershy's honor" as Fluttershy falls to the ground in 10 seconds flat...Rainbow Dash says she was the first in her class to get a cutie mark, so I am going to assume that the bullies aren't in her class then, and that after the race Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash must not have talked about it or idk how she could be sure of that since they both got them while they were away from each other...or maybe they aren't the same age....

Okie dokie so for the order that they got their cutie marks in I am not entirely sure, I'd like to assume that Dash got her cutie mark first, but by the time she got hers the boom wasn't on the screen nemore and Twilight had got hers theoretical ne time during her little explosion, but I will stay say that Dash got hers first as I believe there is more of an argument there....third would be Fluttershy who took time to gather up all the animals, Rarity would be 4th since she got hers that night at the play, and then its kinda a toss up between AppleJack and Pinkie Pie who both got theirs the next day so its kinda up to whoever to decide which one got theirs first.....

Also who got theirs at the youngest?   Well I am not sure of the ages of ne pony except for that Pinkie Pie is a year younger than Fluttershy...so it depends on several things of maybe Fluttershy was  a year up and Rainbow Dash went to go protect her, so Fluttershy may be the oldest of the group...I know it doesn't really matter I just like to make myself wonder..

Who's a Silly Pony?

WOOO!! I got both of my picks right yesterday....so now thats out of the way lets pick some more NHL since that worked out...today I like Boston Bruins (-180) at home versus the Canadiens and I like the Sharks (-200) at home against the Kings, both of these games are better odds than the Vancouver pick last night.

I am rooting for the Bruins to win the Stanley Cup this year so obviously I am going to take them to win game one at home. The Canadiens are not the best scoring team in the NHL and with Tim Thomas in goal for the Bruins I could see it being a tough time for Montreal to be able to score very many goals against the Bruins....one thing to look out for is that Montreal is 7th in the NHL in power play scoring so its essential for the Bruins to try to avoid the penalty box. 

The Kings are one of the better defensive teams in the NHL, while the Sharks are one of the more productive offensives in the NHL...I give the edge to the Sharks thought with Antti Niemi in goal as I believe the Sharks will be able to handle the Kings in the series and it would definitely help them to get a win here in the first game while they are at home.

Well my bad not predicting that Carpenter was going to give up 8 runs in 4 innings or that the Cardinals were going to score 8 runs and lose by 5...it was good to see that the Cardinals could score runs for Carpenter, but then terrible to see Chris just kinda give it away neways.  At least the Bulls won beating the Knicks by 13 still leaving me confused as to why that game ended up on the streak with the spread of 7.5 but it worked out for me.  

As for today the NHL playoffs start so SFTC is going to have those games on there.  But, before I get into that I am going to take Real Madrid to win against Tottenham, Real just beat them 4-0 in Madrid on the 5th, and I am expecting a repeat performance of a victory for Real.  The line is set at Real Madrid +110 to win and I see that as a valuable bet to place as well.  

Now for NHL predictions, for tonight on the SFTC I am going with  @Vancouver the line is set at -175 and I feel that Vancouver is going to start of the series right with a win at home over the Blackhawks.  Now for the Stanley Cup I am going to with the Boston Bruins with their 9 to 1 odds to win it all.

well I have been a bit off as of late....not winning so many bets and being pretty unlucky as the teams I pick all seem to lose.  Lucky for me Streak for the Cash keeps putting the Bulls on there so I keep picking them as they beat the Magic the other day and now are on there again against the Knicks.  They are 7.5 point favorites which makes that an unbelievable point spread for a game on the streak and a must pick.

A pick I like on centsports would be obviously be the bulls, but the -330 is kinda a turn off, so I looked elsewhere and where better than the St. Louis Cardinals with Chris Carpenter pitching....now the deal is the Cardinals could be having a great start to the year, but eventually losing 3 games in the 9th haven't helped the record, so I like the Cardinals to beat the Diamondbacks tonight, just like they did last night with a much better line compared to the Bulls game at -152, or for the risk taker the Cardinals -1.5 for an even bet.  As I know that if the Cardinals are only up by 1 in the 9th as the way the season has been going so far there is a strong possibility that they will find a way to lose it.

The Frank Haith Hiring

Good News: He recruited LaMarcus Aldridge to Texas, he graduated 21 of 22 seniors

Bad News: He coached an ACC team and had a 129-101 record and a conference record of 43-69.  He reached .500 in the conference only once in his 7 seasons at Miami.  Had one NCAA appearance in his 7 years. 

How will Haith do as a coach at Mizzou? Well I should give him a shot, unfortunately for him with my luck being very bad with my predictions lately, I'm not gonna say things are going to fall completely down hill from here and that all hope is lost due basically to the why not idea?...Now could someone have come in a done a better job than Haith? Yeah, prolly..but, the idea now is that Haith is going to be the head coach at Mizzou so its time to focus on the positives and just hope for the best.  He is more known for his recruiting rather than his coaching and he will have a bunch of scholarships to hand out early on in his Mizzou coaching career so hopefully he can bring in some players that want to play and Mizzou will have a shot.  I am trying my best to look at this in the most positive way possible, as with what most ponies would agree with me is a very questionable coaching hire.


also on a side note...I am going with the Chicago Bulls over the Orlando Magic tomorrow.  The Bulls are a 4.5 point favorite and the Magic are going to be without Dwight Howard.  The Bulls already locked up the number one seed in the east but could still use the win to try to get home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

A Bird in the Hoof

Shocking a pony episode starts off strong as the party scene is one of the more enjoyable scenes that I have seen.  Some things that I noticed from just the party scene and questions that it brings it up....

1. Its really no surprise that Rarity can make some of the outfits for the Grand Galloping Gala and then not be invited due to her ummm social issues, also the fact that the dresses she designed in the Suited for Success continue to make their appearances in episodes.
2. I wonder why Derpy Hooves wasn't invited to the party, yet they let Pinkie Pie out for how ever long they did.  Pinkie around all that sugar and ponies and nopony was expecting her to get a little crazy?  I mean I do understand its not a party without Pinkie Pie, but I'm not sure if this was the best time for Twilight to let Pinkie in on the action...tho Pinkie prolly has party senses or something and would have been there neways.
3. Mrs. and Mr. Cake were pretty entertaining to my surprise and I wonder how much Pinkie actually is around them due to Mrs. Cake's gasp at about 4:30 being pretty on with Pinkie's from episode 1. 
4. ooo you're good...too good, I'm bored
5. Fluttershy seems to be less socially awkward in situations and it seems to me that there is an argument for her being the most developing character in the series. 
6. Also I mean unless Princess Celestia really was just unaware of the situation...its seems that a small explanation of why the bird looks like its gonna die would have been a good idea with the pony that clearly has an obsession with animals.  
7. Even the ponies exiting was pretty entertaining...I'm trying to decide which would be more of a scene at a party Pinkie leaving doing cartwheels or Rarity threatening everyone while she goes out...plus while on Rarity does nepony else think she may still be holding a grudge about the dresses thing as she hasn't really been too chipper with the ponies as of late.  

Then it turned into a Fluttershy episode with a dash (not that one thankfully) of Twilight that had its moments.  I didn't find the bird shananigans that entertaining on the first go around, so since that was much of the episode idk.  Twilight supposedly is Princess Celestia's prize student and so should be on pretty good terms of understanding what is and what is not acceptable, but seems to just be way off on most of the stuff which is kinda surprising to me, but it may just be nerves.

I enjoyed this episode a lot, I guess the reason that the bird thing wasn't all that entertaining to me was that due to the fact that the bird being a phoenix just seemed to make too much sense, thus the whole act, especially with Celestia's reaction, just made everything some what predictable...also Fluttershy breaking the fourth wall was somewhat weird to me, because I had only seen Pinkie Pie do that so that kinda threw me for a loop.  But overall, you cant go wrong with ponies and this was another quality episode.

Kind of off topic, but something that I noticed was that this episode ended in the ponies laughing which felt too familiar to me so I decided to look up how the episodes ended:

so 11/22 episodes end in laughter which I guess makes it almost noteworthy

The Masters

Here are the players that I am going to be looking out for this year.

1. Phil Mickelson (6 to 1)- Phil is the favorite to win this year's Masters and it is tough to not pick a three time champion.  Phil played very well this last weekend and will be looking to bring that play to Augusta where he won last year.
2. Tiger Woods (10 to 1)- Though Tiger has not been playing very well since his incident, it is impossible to not keep an eye on out on him.  No matter how much you want to say he is struggling right now he has still won this event 4 times and it is a major where Tiger always seems to bring it.
3. Nick Watney (16 to 1)- Watney has finished in the top 10 in 5/6 tournaments this year, and leads the PGA in birdies per round.  He finished 7th in the Masters last year.
4. Paul Casey (33 to 1)- Casey has finished in the top 20 four times in this event and has to skills to be able to make a run at a major tournament.
5. Justin Rose (33 to 1)- He has finished in the top 5 in his last two events and is 3rd on the PGA tour in greens in regulations this season.  Rose has the experience from this tournament and could be in turn for a run at it.
6. Dustin Johnson (25 to 1)- Dustin Johnson has great driving distance (3rd on the PGA tour this season) and can birdie a lot of holes (2nd on the PGA tour this season).  For that reason Johnson has a shot at putting together 4 rounds that would allow him to win the title, yet also could blow up and not put forth much due to a not so good driving accuracy (162nd).
7. Gary Woodland (125 to 1)- This is my reach pick for the tournament.  This is his first appearance at the Masters, but he has four top 6 finishes this year.  Similar to Johnson, Woodland has great driving distance (8th) and birdies a lot of holes (8th), but he is also good at getting the ball on the green in regulation (15th) and putting (25th) giving him a shot at pulling out the major upset in this tournament.

well if the ponies can take a while off...I feel that it is okay that I took a while off

but now its back to business as the Hub threw out this teaser for the episode coming out on the 15th, and a vote on how everyone wants to see Rainbow Dash get her cutie mark...Its a cutie mark crusaders episode, but this one seems to be more focused on the main ponies so we will see how it ends up.


As for the teaser the fact that Scootaloo admires Rainbow Dash makes sense, because they both have similar personalities...but that doesn't make them sisters unlike Applejack/Apple Bloom and Rarity/Sweetie Belle...so I do have hope that that gets cleared up in the episode when it appears (keep in mind this episode airs the 15th, not this friday which happens to be some Fluttershy stealing a bird shananigans).  Also the way the teaser was presented implies most of the other ponies being involved which is good, because the cutie mark crusaders tend to be more entertaining when interacting with other ponies. (if its a Rainbow Dash/Cutie Mark Crusader episode I am not sure what I will do)

Now for the stories and the selections for how Dash gets her cutie mark....well here is my take starting with story number 2.  I start with the second one, because I don't see that fitting into Dash's personality.  If Dash was that worried about disappointing her parents, then I am assuming that her confidence is low and as shown in Sonic Rainboom when her confidence is low it's hard to make her compete much less perform well, with those thoughts in the back of her mind.  Also from the way the teaser looked it seems that Dash would be presented this story to the Cutie Mark Crusaders and I don't see her telling a story about herself like that.

Story one and story three both are plausible though, as they both seem to fit into her personality and both show her in a positive light so she would easily be able to tell either one of these to the cutie mark crusaders.  As to which one I prefer, I am not sure....I feel watching Dash try to pull of the third story as true may make for an entertaining part of the episode, but I don't have a strong preference either way.

Good news everypony......I'm gonna talk about Notre Dame

Well now that Notre Dame has done everything they can to be irrelevant in real sports, they decided to donk their way to the Championship game of Women's Basketball against fellow donks Texas A&M...and they donked their way to the frozen four and by donked I mean beat Merrimack in OT and then beat New Hampshire (who was hosting the game).  Now they play Minnesota Duluth who I am pretty sure only plays hockey *but didn't they like just win the division II football championship* (not important) and are the favorites in the game...but why not I will take Notre Dame with no rhyme or reason other than I feel like it and that it doesn't really matter cuz North Dakota is gonna win the championship neways no matter who wins the ND/Duluth game.

Now for the game that I would be surprised if anybody actually watched the whole thing the Notre Dame/Texas A&M game.  I feel that Notre Dame is going to win this game, while I am still in a bit of shock of the Stanford collapse against Texas A&M (and A&M stepping up) late in the other game.  But if Notre Dame can rebound like they did against Uconn in this game then they should end up with the Title.  Seeing as both of the teams beat two one seeds I don't see momentum being a factor, but Notre Dame has been playing very well as of late beating both Tennessee and two time defending champions Uconn by double digits, while Texas A&M who has also been playing very well (and not to put down anything they have done) beat Baylor who they were facing for the third time this year and Stanford who they needed a 19-8 run in the last 5 minutes as well as a last second layup to beat.  Also the fact that it is being played in Indiana doesn't hurt Notre Dame's chances. 

This was basically done by request....and just goes to show how much effort I will put into requests.....

O and btw I am pulling for Butler in the Men's Championship Game tonight for no other reason than I get second in my bracket pool, which prolly means that Uconn is a lock tonight since I haven't been all that lucky on my bets lately....also knowing that I have picked Butler to lose every single tournament game they have played the past two years and that has failed me miserably I feel that it is finally time for me to throw them a bone just in time to watch a husky steal it...
